Selling off my 75gal equipment.

Postby Erik on Fri Jun 25, 2010 11:17 am

Hey VMA,
I am going to list off some of the equipment that will be available when my 180 is up and running. I'm almost full on the 180 and will be heating/mixing salt soon to start the cycle. So it could be a few weeks before all of the equipment is available, but I wanted to let everyone know what will be for sale if you are planning on upgrading/replacing/etc. in the near future.

So first I'll list the tank setup... Looking for $200 OBO
75G Perfecto Reef Ready with Black Silicone (beautiful build)
Custom made stand (by me). 2x4 construction with maple hardwood finishes and trim. Red mahogany finish.
20G glass sump with bubble trap
Oceanrunner 2500 (maybe a 3500) return pump
All plumbing for return/drain
Older pictures, but I'll clean everything up:

Itech-100 Skimmer (Andy Avery has first dibs) - $200 FIRM
This is a true conical skimmer and has been working amazing on my 75 when I haven't been present. This thing makes me gag, it gets so nasty. This skimmer was custom made for me by the originator of I-tech. This was the first batch of skimmers released and was designed for the Aquabee impellar pump which uses next to no electricity and pumps a ton of air. Only gripe with this skimmer is that the collection cup is difficult to seat. It takes a little elbow grease. A little silicone grease would probably help:

Aquamedic Spacelight - $400 OBO
I have a 2x250w HQI Metal Halide light fixture with 2x54w T-5 actinics. This is an AWESOME fixture. It will grow anything in your 48" tank. The fixture does not have fans, so you'll want to have one, but other than that, this fixture has it all. I even retrofitted 2 current LED moonlight modules onto it. My model is black and has 3 switches. 2 for each halide and 1 for the T-5s as well as a separate plug for the moonlights. I will assume that the bulbs need to be replaced in this fixture.
This is the unit, slight variation in the ballast and my light is black:

I would LOVE that skimmer if Andy doesn't take it but...don't know where I'd come up with the cabbage to get it :(.
A case of beer: $15

Frag Mounting Supplies: $20

A high speed rotary tool: $30

Being able to frag a $300+ coral with a steady hand before you're too drunk and have super glued your fingers together...priceless!!!

An offer is discussion related to the thread topic.

I haven't even heard if anybody wants anything... Based on the current interest, I'm going to throw this stuff on craigslist.

Jeez at that price I'd almost buy it just so I could resell it later at a profit :!:

The tank and everything are broken down and ready to go.
Skimmer is still pending pickup on Wednesday.
Lights are about as low as I can possibly go without losing my mind.

I will trade the light for a used Vortec MP40, or an MP20 and $150. Or a calcium reactor setup. Or something equally as awesome :)

The tank/sump is hosed out and is drying off the stand. Plumbing all intact. Great opportunity to upgrade!
