Fleck...

Postby showjyr on Mon Feb 22, 2010 11:59 pm

Here is the new sea hare I got from reefs2go.com a few days back.....he's pretty cool and moves waaaay faster than my other hare. My niece has dubbed him/her Fleck....not as creative as the turbo snails she named Dozer and Peaches(R.I.P) but still pretty funny, I mean she's only 6 :D

Also....a pic I got of one of my curios little shrimp as I was trying to get a shot of the snailclam ;)

I've watched them crawl over each other like they were nothing more than another rock/coral so I'd say they get along

It's only been a few days so I can't say if he eats more....the other one I have has taken to cleaning the glass, especially around the bottom where little algae patches grow, I think me may be a little on the slow side if ya know what I mean :D

No that's not one of the baby shrimp....that's one of the dozen or so lagoon(?) shrimp I have and it's about 1" long. They're a great clean up crew member and are less than $.40 each at reefs2go.com

Geez, that's too bad. He didn't make it very long :( BTW, did you ever get rid of your turf algae and if so, how did you do it? I seem to be having some issues with it since putting the polyp rock you gave me in my tank. I've been vodka dosing and doing weekly water changes and using phos-ban but the stuff is persistant.

Sorry to hear the bad news :( I just moved everything to the 120 an i had to put my sea hare down in my fuge tank cause i dont have no algae in the new one yet. he was in the corner of the tank looking pretty lifeless  But he's fat an happy again in the fuge with plenty of food now

Yeah it's a bummer. He was pretty cool where as my other one may have mental problems....the only thing I ever see him "actually" do is try to crawl up the corners of the glass and fall over  I know it eats algae because of the big green poops but I never see where any is gone. My two bigger scarlet hermits at least leave noticeable patches so I know they've been at work.

Pam...nope still fighting it :x I haven't given/sold a single frag since realizing it was so bad....I figured it was a run of the mill algae and high nutrients or something else was causing it. Just my luck it some super algae
