The Connecticut Area Reefers Society is announcing their third annual "Frag Farmer's Market" I know that a handful of the VMA members went down last year and had a great time. I would love if some of our members would go down this year sporting your VMA shirt and support their cause. The CTARS have been very gracious hosts in the past and we should support them in any way, shape or form.
Their event is scheduled for: March 13th, 2010 from 12pm-4pm
At: E.O. Smith High School 1235 Storrs Road Storrs, Connecticut Click Here for Map
*****Admission is Free****** If anyone is interested in setting up a table to swap their frags, contact Jon Swanson at swansonjl@hotmail.com
Look's like we will be attending again this year as well! I got the "okay" from the wife this morning so woohoo . Hopefully a few more VMA members will be able to make the trip...it's a lot of fun and not really that long of a drive (about 3-1/2 hours from the Barre/Montpelier area) and pretty easy to find. If you are planning on going and have a VMA shirt please wear it...any free advertisement we can get would be great!!!

Being able to frag a $300+ coral with a steady hand before you're too drunk and have super glued your fingers together...priceless!!!
I agree with Andy...your tank is simply breathtaking Steve!!! everything about it from the aquascaping to the stunning colors and just overall awesome healthy looking corals is just incredible. Even the sweet looking fish are fun to watch...hard to believe that's all in a 75g but quite honestly it's one of the best looking tanks I've ever seen. Good job!!!

Contact Erik for a t-shirt Pam. You'll have fun if you go...it's not like MACNA but it was a fun experience last year and you can get some nice frags at decent prices and network with new reef geeks .

So how many VMA members will be able to make this event? So far it looks like myself and my wife along with Jaime and Pam...are there any others? I can tell you first hand that it would be an enjoyable trip for anyone with a Saturday to kill and encourage any member who can make it to go!

I will be returning, its an awesome opportunity to score great frags at amazing prices. Justin correct me if I am wrong but I believe there were more than 25 vendors and they took up 3 rooms, there were give aways, door prizes, raffles, and alot of great people to talk to. If you have the time its a great take. Randy
You are correct Randy, something like 25 vendors in 3 rooms plus door prizes and raffles and I believe they raise their own Bangaii Cardinal fish don't they? Regardless, it's a real fun time and you get to meet a lot of nice fellow reef geeks .

Jon from the E.O. Smith Coral Project here! Just a quick update on the event and a bit of eye candy to lure you into coming down. We have over 20 people signed up to set-up tanks with anything from mushrooms to zoas, LPS to SPS, starter to high end LE corals. I have Steve and his boys coming up from the city with their usual awesome stuff, Greg Hiller from Boston with his rare and unusual collection, Unique Corals from NY, a few new "farmers" who will be there with who knows what! and a few of the CTARS guys who I know keep VERY nice stuff. The frags are plentiful and the prices are reasonable, what more could you ask for? When you come down, please stop by and introduce yourself (or reintroduce yourself), I'll be the one running around like I'm on fire trying to get things for everyone but I'd love to chat with my northern reef geek brothers and sisters! I attached a few images of stuff that I was bringing from my home collection to entice you into making the trip. Keep in mind, there are people there who have FAR nicer stuff than I keep!
I plan on going, but will be staying in RI at my mothers on Friday night and driving from there on Saturday. I'll just look for "the shirt" and hook up with who ever I see!
